Switching to pixel

Hi i'm new here and I'm thanking lately about switching from a samsung phone to a pixel.

I want to know how is the experience with pixel phones performance wise optimization battery and if i'm gonna miss features or not.

I know that they have probably the best camera on android but i feel like that's the only better feature than the samsung.

Note that i'm using a s25 and thank you.

Confused between P10 and OP13

Same as title, given I am getting both for almost the same price with offers and exchange.

EDIT: I know whilst buying any above the 2 mentioned, I gotta sacrifice in one way or another.

I would wanna ask specifically, how much of a difference is there in cameras between the two, and secondly, in real life use caes, how long do they last on a single charge.

[FIX] Pixel 7 Pro Camera Dead / Blank Screen / Flashlight "Camera in Use" Bug (After March Update)

add +1 to this google issue tracker: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/499103620

Problem:

After the March Pixel Drop got auto-installed on Sunday 15th March, my Pixel 7 Pro's camera completely died. Every camera app showed a blank screen (even the front camera). The flashlight quick tile was grayed out with a "Camera in use" warning, but there was no green privacy dot.

For the devs/tinkerers, pulling a bug report or running adb logcat showed this exact fatal crash loop in the camera HAL:

Abort message: 'KRAKEN init error, status: NOT_FOUND: LwisFence signal status: No such device or address'

What troubleshooting steps I tried:

  1. Force stopping the Camera app, Android System Intelligence, or Pixel Camera Services.
  2. Safe mode, repair mode and hard restarts.
  3. Killing the camera provider via ADB (killall cameraserver threw permission errors).
  4. Sideloading the March full OTA zip to fix potential corruption.

The Fix: Downgrading to the December 2025 Factory Image

The only way to revive the camera was to unlock the bootloader and clean-flash the older firmware (specifically BP4A.251205.006).

This will completely wipe your phone. Back up everything first.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  • Prep the phone: Go to Settings > About phone and tap Build number 7 times. Go to Developer options and toggle ON USB debugging and OEM unlocking. (Note: If OEM unlocking is greyed out, connect to Wi-Fi so Google can verify the device).
  • Prep the PC: Install Android SDK Platform Tools (sudo apt install android-sdk-platform-tools or download from Google's dev site).
  • Boot into fastboot: Connect your phone to your PC and run: adb reboot bootloader
  • Unlock the bootloader: Run this command: fastboot flashing unlock
  • Confirm the unlock: Use the volume keys on your phone to select "Unlock the bootloader" and press the Power button. The phone will wipe itself.
  • Download factory image: Go to the official Android Factory Images site, find the "cheetah" section for the Pixel 7 Pro, and download the December 2025 zip (BP4A.251205.006).
  • Flash: Extract the zip file on your computer, ensure the phone is still in the bootloader menu, and run the flash script:

./flash-all.sh (Mac/Linux) or flash-all.bat (Windows).

Note on relocking: Do not run fastboot flashing lock while on older firmware. Just leave the bootloader unlocked for now to avoid tripping any Anti-Rollback (ARB) security traps (this is not 100% confirmed just seen some Pixel 6 and 8 series have this ARB)

Once the phone booted up on the december firmware, the hardware woke right up and all lenses (including the front) worked perfectly again. Hope this saves someone a trip to the repair center.

Final note: "automatic system updates" in developer settings must stay OFF if not device will break again after auto-update.

Just picked up a pixel 10 pro XL

Been an avid iPhone user since the iPhone 4 and I’m just officially over Apple. Landed what I felt was a great deal on a “open box” factory unlock for $700. Any recommendations on migrating to android. What’s the best way to start?

PIXEL 9 PRO XL: problema di ricarica rapida

Buongiorno a tutti.

  • Riavviare il dispositivo: risolve momentaneamente il problema perché dopo 5-10 minuti in cui sembra essere tutto risolto e ricaricare in fast charge, poi ritorna a ricaricare lentamente disattivando tale modalità;
  • Avviare il dispositivo in modalità provvisoria "sicura": per verificare se ci fossero app terze che potevano creare problemi ma anche in questa modalità, la ricarica rapida "scompare";

Grazie

Have Pixel phones fixed the lag when going home with gestures while using third-party launchers?

Hi! I'm thinking about switching to a Pixel 10 Pro because I've heard that Pixels don't have that problem anymore. Is it true? Can someone confirm this? Thank you!

Upgrade to 10 pro or wait till 11?

Currently on a pixel 7 at the moment, and I'm hitting my personal phone upgrade window of about 3-4 years (I had a pixel 3 before the 7). The main issue I'm noticing is the battery life on my 7 starting to not hold up as well as it used to, plus a little slowing down here and there. I'm not a huge power user. I like to take pictures (so I'd Iike good camera quality) and I play some games here and there but nothing too intensive usually. I try to get my phones to last 3-4 years typically.

Should I take advantage of one of the deals through Google Fi for a 10 pro or pro XL or holdout for the 11? Also open to other phone suggestions that'd work well on Google Fi.

Pixel 7 Pro Display Replacement.

Has anyone replaced the display with aftermarket screens. When I checked with the Google servicing here in Kochi they quoted me 18k. I changed the battery for about 4K from them. My phone is over 3 years old. Are aftermarket displays okay for the phone considering I want to use this phone at least for another 2 years.

I just bought a Pixel 10 pro XL and need a case for it. I narrowed down two options: Spigen Tough Armor and Otterbox Defender Pro XT. Which should I buy?

Pixel Buds Pro 2 no high res codec?

How is it that Google Charges $230 for the Pixel buds pro 2 and it only has AAC and SBC codes, the lowest form of audio quality? When you can get, say the Nothing Ear 2 which has all the high res codec's great sound and is like $130? I assume your just paying for the Google name? Just curious :-)

Which phone is most reliable nowadays?

I have a Pixel 6 and was planning on upgrading to the Pixel 11, but after dealing with bootloop issues and finally being able to get back into my phone after ADB sideloading, I'm afraid it'll just happen again. I'm sort of done with Google Pixel at this point, especially seeing how it's a widespread issue, and they keep pumping out useless AI features that literally provide 0 value.

Is iPhone the most reliable phone now? They don't seem to care as much about AI, which I think is a good thing. Google is pumping out way too much AI slop.

Newly saved images not appearing in Google Pixel 10 Pro gallery

I've probably downloaded this image like 6 times now. I can send it in a chat, but when I go to see it in my gallery It isn't there and I cannot access it. I can only send it in chats, I cannot use it anywhere else.
I cannot for the life of me find out how to fix it. This is only with new images, not any of my older ones that I had before this problem. This is a recent issue though. I've seen people talk about not seeing any pictures in their gallery period, but that isn't my problem. It's that I cannot see any newly saved photos. If someone knows how to fix it, then I'd appreciate any help.

Left no stone unturned, when nothing worked I contacted Google and if Google support doesn't investigate the GP issues, who does?

Before anyone suggests the usual things like checking the Trash, Archive, Locked Folder, switching accounts, checking the browser, Gallery Trash, reinstalling the app, or signing out and back in... I have already done all of that. I have literally tried everything I could find online. There isn't a single obvious troubleshooting step left that I haven't already tried.

Also, please don't tell me that "Free up space deletes photos from your phone." I already know that. That was the entire point.

My phone storage was completely full. I had around 4,000 photos and videos, and my phone had become almost unusable because of the lack of storage. I didn't want to keep those files on my phone forever. That's exactly why I trusted Google Photos.

I thought, "Google is one of the biggest technology companies in the world. Google Photos is literally designed to back up your memories so you can safely remove them from your phone afterward."

So I gave Google Photos permission to back up my gallery.

The backup took several days because I was using mobile data. During that time, Google Photos itself kept sending me notifications saying that a certain number of photos had been backed up and asking if I wanted to "Free up space."

I didn't blindly press the button.

Every single time, I read the message carefully. It clearly said that those photos had already been backed up safely to Google Photos and could be downloaded again anytime in the future. Only after reading that did I press "Free up space."

I used that feature because I thought it would save me from manually opening my gallery and deleting thousands of photos one by one. That's literally what the feature is supposed to do.

Instead, after using it, I discovered that not only were the photos removed from my phone, more than half of them are missing from Google Photos as well.

Entire months are almost gone.

For example, if I originally had around 100 photos in a month, Google Photos now only shows one or two. Most of my camera photos and photos I received through WhatsApp and Instagram have disappeared. Ironically, most screenshots are still there.

I never manually deleted anything from Google Photos.

I trusted Google's own backup process and used Google's own "Free up space" feature exactly as it instructed me to.

Then I contacted Google Support.

They asked me multiple questions, asked which account I used, whether I used Google Photos or Google One, asked for screenshots, and I answered everything because I genuinely believed they were investigating my issue.

After several days, their final reply was simply that they don't handle Google Photos, only Google Drive.

That honestly left me even more confused.

If they couldn't investigate Google Photos in the first place, why wasn't I told that in the first reply? Why ask me for all that information and give me hope that someone was looking into my case?

Then they told me to ask in the public forums.

This makes me wonder... Google Photos is one of Google's biggest services. Millions of people trust it with their most valuable memories. Is there really no dedicated Google Photos support team that can investigate account-specific issues?

At this point, I'm not looking for generic troubleshooting tips anymore. I've already spent days trying every suggestion I could find and contacting Google themselves.

If anyone has a real solution, or has actually recovered photos after something like this happened, please tell me. These weren't just files. They were years of memories that I can never recreate, and I'm honestly heartbroken.

Edited photos?

I have a pixel 10 pro

Whenever I take a photo and edit it by cropping, it suddenly won't show up to post like on Facebook or Instagram.

Only the cropped photos don't show.

It's driving me crazy and I don't understand why

Googles stock photo app

Hi there.

Find the Google stock app for photos to be difficult to navigate. Is it wise to use another app and if so can anyone recommend a good one to use for me?

Thanks very much.

Things I used in Pixel 7 that don't work or randomly fail in Pixel 10

Massive Pains:

Selecting an item from my interest feed results in blank screen...sometimes appearing after 5-10 seconds, but usually never.

There is no "make text size readable" in the interest feed.

There aren't enough choices for system text size.

The slow motion movie mode only has 2 speeds.

The processor seems slower than Pixel 7. I tried turning off AI, but there is no single OFF setting, so I could never know if it was actually OFF.

Doesn't play well with Windows photo app, so I manually do file transfer to copy the latest photos to my PC.

I had a movie short selected from my interest feed, went so show my wife, and the screen timed out. After unlock to movie was gone, and also removed from my feed.

BTW my interest feed is the panel left of the home screen, not sure if it has a formal name.

If it was easy I would fall back to my Pixel 7, having learned my lesson about believing the new Pixel is better than one 3 generations back.

Bulgaria will be added to countries offically selling...(Infor for now is only on carriers)

.ONLY THE 128/8 model BUT there still isn't in the store.google.com an option for the country nor have the carriers added it yet.

(Kaldata has a post...and other sites if questioning source yeah honestly kaldata is most reputable out of all here...)
