That time of year for opting out of device arbitration is here again!

Buried in the arbitration agreement as always is the link to opt out, which is inactive so you can't click on it. You have to opt out within 30 days of device activation:

g.co/devicearbitration/optout

As a reminder, device arbitration is something you automatically "agree" on when purchasing stuff from many scummy companies nowadays. You basically have to *opt out* of it. The arbitration agreement basically has you declare that you won't be participating in lawsuits including class action ones against the company for a defective product, opting for arbitration instead.

Has the "remember this connection between devices" option been deprecated from Android and/or Windows?

Talking about this option: https://www.reddit.com/r/Passkeys/comments/1le06x0/what_triggers_remember_this_connection_ms/

It used to prompt you to save your Android phone on Windows or even another Android after the first QR scan so you don't have to scan it in the future. Been testing on webauthn.io and can't get it to save the phone.

I'm on a Pixel 10 Pro XL on Android 16 June update, and Windows 11 25H2 26200.8457. Also tried to save the P10PXL on a Pixel 8 Pro, same version, and there's no checkbox. On my P8 Pro I have old phones saved, on "Passkeys and devices" in Google Play Services, so I know it could be done on Android as well at some point.

Can anyone download languages on Live Caption settings?

Haven't been able to download any languages on my Pixel Tablet and P10PXL for Live Caption, wondering if it's something local. Can anyone try? It's on Settings -> Accessibility -> Live Caption -> Languages & Translation.

Worst thing is that my Pixel Tablet kept deleting the languages randomly and now can't downlad any for the past 3 or 4 days, maybe more. The P10PXL didn't delete the languages, but tried deleting manually one, and I can't download it, or any other, again.

Both are on Android 16 May build, and Android System Intelligence version 24. On the Pixel Tablet I've tried uninstalling updates which rolls back to ASI v13, but it's the same. Tried many times, and only once I could download one language, but updating to v24 deleted it again. Also tried deleting storage for ASI for "all time" and the Now Playing history but no dice.

So I'm seeing newish RTL8159 10G network adapters with USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 (20 Gbps) interface. But AFAIK, these are not compatible with USB4 ports that many laptops have, and which also don't have 3.2 Gen 2x2. Jeff Geerling tested one recently and it was a bit of an issue with compatibility: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYZbZJZfCFI

Using these on USB 10G ports seemed to be pretty hampered by the USB interface. Without USB4 being backward compatible with 3.2 Gen 2x2 the latter seems like a dead end, especially since it's not been used in much hardware, especially laptops.

Not that it was a big issue anyway, but I've always maintained this was a bug, regardless of what a google employee said in the bug report. It was absolutely silly slow and didn't make sense at all, also considering that the ramp down from 97-100% was a lot less pronounced as well. Even from 94-100% it throttled considerably but it took about ~16 min, whereas in March-April updates they were throttling even harder from 77-80% so it took almost 45 minutes.

With today's update it's back to just following the slow throttling curve as it fills out, from the low-70's to 80% it slows down to 11-12W if charging with a higher wattage charger.
