Basically what title says. I (32f) have been going through a hard time since the loss. It's been hard, and I had taken a few days off work for this reason. My boss (40f) is usually supportive and we have developed a friendly relationship so I told her about this. She said a few comforting words.
When I went back to work, I accidentally knocked someone''s coffee off the table. I offered to buy him another but he made a "if you're so careless its a good thing you lost the child anyway" joke and I was shocked and more than a little hurt. I had told no one else, and I later found out my boss had told everyone even though I told her not to.
I quit immediately and am being called unreliable, bitchy, etc continuously. AITA?
edit: misgendered
