Been 3 weeks now. Hair is getting longer for sure but still looks like “light” in person from a few feet away.. Is this worth growing out or should i shave it?

attempting to grow a beard for the first time.. is it worth trying or should i shave and try again later? this is like 2 weeks of growth from clean shave with safety razor. (19yrs old)

wondering if i could grow a full respectable beard based on these pics.. it’s been 12 days since i shaved fully:)
