Moving out from family home in suburbs of Pacoima. Haven’t felt like I lived in Los Angeles this whole time. I’m 27, taken, and female.

I’m ready to do Los Angeles the real way. People come from Out of state, dream of living here, the least I should do is take advantage of my location and not need to make a whole trip across the country to live here.
As someone who has not been able to make friends, but don’t have anything wrong with myself, just lack of opportunity, where in LA would be the best area for me? ( most of my HS classmates had a baby soon after graduating HS ( not my vibe) , my college was remote for 3 years, and I work remote).
I have a dog, want to meet people who are also looking for friends, and I work remotely. My budget is $2000 including utilities.

I considered housemates, but I don’t think it’s worth the hassle of her living with some strangers.
I’m going to feel self conscious preparing food, taking hours in the kitchen, sharing fridge space and kitchen pots and pans, as well as sharing quiet hours/respect others sleeping time, etc

Where would you suggest? Please help! The reason I want to move out is to finally make some friends! I feel it’s so hard to make friends here nobody wants to come to pacoima. My parents are fine and treat me like an adult but I feel like I have no social life and I’m not interested in driving an hour plus to where fun things happen

First time moving out to a studio! Pls help me organize, I will live solo with dog.

Hi y’all. I’m going to be moving out from my family’s home and into my own studio by the beach!! I’m very excited and looking forward to browsing used furniture to fill my studio with.

I will move in with my dog. My boyfriend will occasionally sleep over.

I’m wondering if I could receive some layout ideas for my furniture. I’m not the biggest fan of having my bed just out there, because it looks like a bedroom and I want to have a living room
And a bedroom, not just people sitting on my couch.

By the way I have no balcony; even though floor plan shows one

Is having a corner unit worth it if it’s going to be next to the alleyway and the parking lot?

I absolutely hate hearing neighbors through the walls. Nothing gets me more angry to hear those muffled voices. I’m going to be moving into this property soon and I have the choice between a top floor unit in between two units or this one that is in the corner, but it’s next to the parking lot and alleyway. Trash pickup twice a week, and the carpet will be replaced with non carpet floor
It’s my first time moving out can you please help me decide which one is better? They’re the same price.

Thinking of selling my 2020 Honda civic due to inflated used car costs. Will I regret it?

Hello, people.

Used car values have shot up and I’m considering selling my car at the current inflated prices. I’m going to be moving to Santa Monica (near bobs market) in a month and was pondering whether it would be a good idea to sell my 2020 Honda civic with 46k miles.
The sale estimate was about 12-16k.

I WFH and live near bobs market, so I was thinking I’m not going to need to use my car that often.
I would save $2064 /yr in insurance, $50 monthly parking, misc gas costs, and registration. So that’s around 2664 for just insurance and parking for a year.

However I’m concerned that I’ll have a hard time buying a new car/ will regret it if the car market doesn’t go back to normal. The car is fully paid off.

I do plan on living here for a while as it’s rent controlled and near everything I like ( beach, park, workout studios). I have parents who live in east of Los Angeles county that I’d like to visit, and my boyfriend lives in West Hollywood. Those are the 2 main concerns. I also have a dog, but her car preference is low priority.

Please help me decide thanks 😆😳

Is this Santa Monica studio a catch or a toss? $2050 a month w utilities

Morning y’all.
I am planning on moving out to this area, or any coastal region in LA. I found a unit that’s on ocean park blvd and around 17th st. It’s a 550 SQFT studio top floor, dog allowed…

The rent is 1795
Utilities are a flat fee of 250.
Parking onsite is 100 pr month or street parking at 150 for the year..

Gas*
$55.00
Trash*
$45.00
Electricity*
$85.00
Sewer*
$15.00
Water*
$50.00

So, it’s not walkable to the beach (40 min walk) but it does have a full kitchen and some of the appliances are new. No amenities building.

Worth it or look longer?
