25F LOOKING TO RENT A ROOM IN OR NEAR WEST HOLLYWOOD STARTING AUGUST 1ST. Budget 1.2k/month

Hi my name is Lizzie! I am a 25 yr old recent graduate looking to rent in the West Hollywood or the DTLA area, hopefully close my friends and family who currently live in the area. My lease is ending in July and I recently got a 9am-5pm job in DTLA.

I have a friendly male tuxedo cat who comes w/ me as a package deal of course. HE DOES NOT PEE ANYWHERE OTHER THAN HIS LITTER BOX. He is a very well behaved boy. I have fostered cats with him in my apartment before, so I can assure he will not pee on anything even to “mark” his territory. I got very lucky with him <3

I am looking to live with other women my age preferably fun, clean, and friendly. :-)

Few Things About Me:
I love to cook and bake for everyone!
420 & alcohol friendly
I love to thrift
I love sitcoms like friends, seinfeld, and gilmore girls and any reality tv show
I love to go out with my friends
I love going to the movies
I am queer and so are most of my friends, If you’re not comfortable with that please don’t message me!

I babysit, see my family often, and go out with my friends very often so I tend to be gone most weekends! Other than that, I tend to have quiet weekday evenings watching tv, cooking, online shopping, or going to the gym.

Former D1 athlete, no smoking, no drugs, financially stable seeking studio-

Hello-

I’m looking for a studio because the owner of my current apartment building is essentially filling up the property with “affordable housing tenants”- at first glance it seems like great idea, but a lot of these individuals are doing dangerous drugs in their units and partaking in illegal activities.

I’ve lived in this apartment for almost 10 years- it’s rent controlled but things are just not getting better at the property.

Anyone know of a decent studio ($1300 to $1400 total rent with parking) that might be available in the Silver Lake, Echo Park, Westlake, or East Hollywood areas?

Thank You-

Being a temp to hire is holding me back.

Hi, I'm trying to move out asap from my current roommates. But I'm currently a temp. It's temp to hire but it's not a guarantee (which is why I plan to seek updates soon). I like to think I will be but this isn't 100%. Due to my situation job wise, I'm not finding it easy to find a roommate. My mental health is rapidly declining where I'm at and it is by far, the worst decision I could have made. To make matters worse, my dog of 16 yrs just passed and I wasn't there in their final moments. Meanwhile, I'm here. In a toxic environment crying in silence for him. I don't know what to do anymore besides plainly explain it how it is 😔. I also have no car and it makes my life harder until I can afford one. What can I do?

How are people okay with spending 2/3 of your income on rent!

I get it’s Los Angeles and things are expensive but this is ridiculous. One bedroom is like 1500-1750 and if you have no choice but to live solo that’s your whole check

After two wonderful years in Los Angeles, it's time for me to move on to a new professional adventure, leaving behind an apartment I've really enjoyed living in. I'm looking for someone to take over my lease starting August 16, 2026, through March 31, 2027.

The apartment is located in the highly sought-after Sawtelle neighborhood in West LA, offering a great sense of space, ideal for anyone looking for a calm and comfortable setting.

A separate bedroom and a bathroom with a shower complete the space. The apartment also offers plenty of storage, including large closets.

[Question] What do you always check before signing a lease in LA?

I'm apartment hunting around LA and trying not to overlook anything important. I usually read reviews, drive through the neighborhood at different times and check Streetsmart while comparing places but I feel like there are always things you only find out after you've moved in. For people who've rented in LA for a while, what's one thing you always check before signing? Any red flags you wish someone had told you about sooner?

SUBLET SUBSIDIZED

Hello all…

I want to sublet my rent controlled apartment for 3 or 6 months (dates negotiable) while I go to Europe for a while. I work remote and want to take advantage of it without giving up the apartment. I am well under market rent.

Top floor corner unit. All utilities included in rent. My rent is $1700 a month but I am willing to come out of pocket slightly to subsidize for ideal candidate.

Small pets considered. Would love for August-September move in but can do earlier or later. There will be notarized sub letter contract. Credit doesn’t matter. Proof of income may be required but ideally I want to do the following:

Never done this before and I can’t have anything going bump while away. My thoughts are - I will want to be paid full 3 month stay up front. I will then pay the money directly to the office so the rent will be paid for 3 months while away. There will be $1000 deposit (somewhat negotiable) to cover any damages to my furnishings or otherwise. If want to do 6 months instead of 3 months, original contract will read 3 and we will basically redo the contract at end of 3 for another 3.

Never done this. Open to negotiations. Prefer woman/steadily employed/ no pets but open to other situations.
