Omg I’m so happy with the result of my first piece!!! I love the shadowy parts and the movement, it looks almost alive.

I also deliberately used the acrylic colour for the flowers as they were because I like the textured look almost as if I had used a palette knife. Served as a purpose for covering the lines with lighter colours better but love the side effect of the look!

I think I could still tweak some parts, do you have any suggestions? Maybe some veins on the leaves? Or should I just leave it? I’d be happy for some feedback :)

My learnings as a first time PBN:

  1. Liquitex acrylic medium was essential to improve texture of some colours

  2. Some colours are just more transparent, I had a green and a red that was a bit more difficult to work with. But it worked in the end! Especially when covering the numbers with a white water based ink pen.

  3. Not 100% staying in the lines inside an object if it’s just about colour grades and not outlines made the process a lot more fun because I didn’t try to hard.

  4. Davinci brushed made it so much better than the brushes the kit came with. Took a photo of the brushes I used in case you were interested. Especially the Filbert brush and the angled brush were soo useful!

still have 3 PBN kits left, I’ll start the next one soon.
