Fun little colour details about ralsei
Something very interesting I’ve noticed about ralsei is that she seems to get more pink the more she opens up. Whether this is galsei evidence or not I leave up to you, but it does connect to that in some way.
When we first meet her, she’s in a blue cloak. As we see by the prophecy, this is pretty much as restrictive and closed off ralsei can get. And would you look at that? No pink to be seen.
Then of course we get the hatted version of her. We first see her scarf here (the game likes to say it’s red sometimes but for the sake of this let’s just say it’s pink). Although it’s interesting that this specific pink part of ralsei is used as a weapon. Maybe it shows that Ralsei sees this more open version of herself as dangerous? I’m probably reading too far into that one.
After that, we see her without her hat, with her very noticeable pink horns and cheeks. And the lighting on her body also becomes pink. This is mostly the ralsei we see across the game, and whilst it’s still not her most prominent color, it still shows she’s willing to be more open.
On the opposite end, the butler outfit, which forces Ralsei into a helper position, turns the large scarf into a small bowtie. Therefore, removing more pink from her design.
In both chapter 2 and 5, we can see Ralsei without her glasses. Where not only are her eyes pink, but she very clearly has makeup on, which is, you guessed it, pink. And in chapter 5, we can see that this make up is still something she’s embarrassed about wearing, but obviously still WANTS to put on (otherwise she just wouldn’t have done it lmao).
And finally, we have the princess dress, which is mostly pink. Ralsei very clearly likes wearing it, it’s probably the happiest she is in the whole game. However, we can still see a bit of green with her glasses, and in the cutscene, we see she still hasn’t accepted that this is what she actually wants. Soooo, quick theory, maybe the final form we see ralsei in will be the dress without the glasses. That would be cool.
We all know gendering colours is stupid, but fact is that pink is seen as a more feminine colour, so it’s very very interesting that it seems to represent a more open version of ralsei
