Hello, I’m visiting Mongolia in August and I’m planning to travel to Jargalant, Khatgal, Ölgii and Kharkhoran through some combination of intercity busses and minibuses/shared taxis. I see that some routes aren’t offered through NRTC: I could go from Ulaanbaatar to Murun, for instance, but I’d need to find a separate way to get to Khatgal. Similarly, NRTC doesn’t seem to offer tickets from Murun to Ölgii, just back to UB.
How reliable are minibuses in Mongolia? Would I need to get a taxi instead? Thanks!
