UAE Small Business Owner Here - Would Appreciate Some Honest Feedback on Our Website & Growth

Hey everyone,

I run Florence Trading FZCO, a small business based in Dubai. We primarily deal in consumer electronics, including Apple products, accessories, premium audio, and brands such as Bang & Olufsen, Pantheone, Belkin and others.

We’ve been growing mostly through B2B relationships, trading, referrals and existing customers, but I feel there’s a lot more we could be doing with our online presence and the business itself.

I’d genuinely appreciate some fresh eyes on our website:

I’m not looking for compliments. Tell me what you’d change.

Does the business proposition make sense immediately?
Does the website make you trust us?
Is anything confusing or unnecessary?
What would make you more likely to enquire or purchase?
And if you were running this business in the UAE, where would you focus next for growth?

Sometimes when you work inside a business every day, you stop noticing things that are obvious to someone looking from the outside.

Happy to hear criticism, ideas, or even completely different approaches. I’d especially love to hear from other UAE business owners who have gone through that transition from a small trading business into something more structured and scalable.

B2B Supplier Claims an Extra Phone Was Given to Me, Could This Become a Theft Complaint?

I run an electronics trading company in the UAE and recently purchased 25 mobile phones from another electronics trader in Deira.

The supplier issued an invoice for 25 units, provided 25 serial numbers, and the transaction was completed accordingly. I counted 25 phones at their counter before the bag was handed over to me.

Later that night, the supplier contacted me claiming that their employee had accidentally placed a 26th phone inside the parcel. I told them I would check, but I could not find any additional unit.

By then, the stock had already been delivered to my customer. The customer also checked and confirmed that they only received the agreed 25 units.

The supplier sent me CCTV footage showing a stack of phones being placed inside a bag, followed by the bag being handed to me. However, the footage does not clearly establish that there were 26 units inside, and I did not open and recount the bag after receiving it because I had already counted 25 phones on the counter.

The supplier has now said they may file a complaint. They keep mentioning that the value may be deducted from their employee’s salary, but this was an internal packing mistake on their side, and I have no possession or knowledge of the alleged extra device.

My documents only show the purchase of 25 phones, and the customer also received 25.

Could they realistically file a theft or breach-of-trust complaint against me based only on this CCTV footage? What should I do now to protect my company?

Should I send them a formal written response, file an incident record, or consult a lawyer before they escalate?

Any guidance from someone familiar with UAE commercial or criminal law would be appreciated.

Why Is Sonnet 5 Consuming My Claude Code Limit So Quickly?

Ever since Fable launched, I tried it once and quickly realised it was not going to work for me. I now use Claude for a wide range of tasks and have effectively delegated a number of workflows to it, but most of them are relatively lightweight and do not require significant computing power. Because of that, Sonnet 4.8, and now Sonnet 5, have become my default models. Medium effort works perfectly for most of what I do, and I only switch to high effort occasionally when a task genuinely requires it. However, since my last weekly reset, I have noticed that Sonnet 5 has consumed a surprisingly large portion of my usage limit. Sunday was only two days ago, and I barely used Claude that day. Normally, my usage is so modest that the limit resets before I come close to reaching it. I am just trying to understand why this would happen. For context, I am very deliberate about how I use Claude. I do not use Chat, and I do not use Co-work. I use Code exclusively. Has anyone experienced something similar, or does Anthropic sometimes adjust or reset usage before the scheduled weekly reset? I honestly have no idea what to expect here. My main concern is that several tasks I have delegated and automated through Claude may stop working, which would force me to handle them manually again. That is manageable, but it could disrupt the workflows I have already streamlined and potentially create unnecessary confusion. I just hope the usage limit is reviewed or reset before Sunday.

Small Business Owner in Dubai: My Experience With Etisalat Business Has Turned Into a Nightmare

Small business owner in Dubai here, and I honestly need to vent and ask if anyone else has faced similar issues dealing with business accounts.

We’ve been dealing with Etisalat Business since 2023. Over time, we’ve purchased SIM plans, services, and devices for resale. Earlier transactions were smooth, which is why what happened recently has been so frustrating.

In November 2025, we placed an order for around 200 Samsung A16 devices. We were shown one model, but on delivery day, a different model arrived. We rejected the shipment and had to spend hours at the warehouse sorting out returns and refunds. To resolve the situation quickly, our account manager suggested replacing part of the order with 16 iPhones of equivalent value. We agreed, completed the transaction, and moved forward.

Fast forward to now, for months we had an overdue amount of around AED 8,200 sitting on the account. We believed this was related to VAT adjustments because of how billing cycles work.

Only yesterday did we discover this amount appears linked to two additional iPhones that were allegedly processed under documentation carrying our company stamp and a partner’s signature. The issue? That partner does not handle operations or purchasing decisions, and we were never aware of these extra devices. Now our lines have been disconnected. We cannot properly communicate with customers, receive calls, or operate normally, and for a small business, this is a disaster. At this stage, I’m less frustrated about the money and more frustrated about process failures, accountability, and the fact that communication services were suspended while this dispute is still unclear.

Has anyone else dealt with something similar in business accounts? What was your next step, escalation, legal route, consumer protection, or internal complaints?

I recently came across a collection of stamps that were originally collected by my grandfather and passed down to us. From what I understand, some of them date back to around 1909, linked to early postal history in Dubai.

I’m not very familiar with philately, so just trying to understand if these hold any value today or if anyone here has experience with similar collections. Happy to share more details or photos if needed.
