leaving my cat behind for 5 months :(
Just wanted to vent a bit because I'm feeling really down. I’m moving to a new city for university and I can't take my cat with me. I'll be away for 5 long months.
My mom going to take care of her, and she is great with animals. But still, we have a very special bond and I don't think anyone can replace my presence. I’m incredibly worried that my cat will feel abandoned, get depressed, or even get sick from the stress of me being gone. I keep thinking, if anything happens to her while I'm away, I don't know if I could ever forgive myself. Is going away to college even worth causing my cat this much distress? Should I give up on this university just to stay with her? I'm completely torn and don't know what to do
Are there any other college students here who had to leave their pets behind? How did you deal with the distance, and how did your pets handle it?
