Are Birds Unpopular??? Where do you get your supplies?

This guy showed up with a bad case of lice. He's got a band, but we've made several attempts to reach out and the owner hasn't called back. We treated him for the lice and he seems to be healthy otherwise. We've been calling him Petey and "him" but we don't actually know if that's correct lol

Petey's been with us about 2 weeks now and it's looking more like we're going to keep him so I started looking for less temporary supplies. I upgraded him from the dog crate to a larger C&C cage, and I was looking for lighting but I can't find anyone around me who carries lighting for birds?

I've been to PetSmart and 2 other local pet stores looking for various things since Petey came into our care, and I noticed at all 3 the bird sections are extremely empty looking? I expected to see things for other birds that may not be applicable to a pigeon but it seemed like there was very little for any birds at all? I was able to order grit from Chewy but even their bird selections seemed lacking.

Petey is the first bird I've had - I currently have dogs and a ball python, but I've had cats, other reptiles, and various fish in the past, so I know pet stores can be iffy on carrying the supplies that animals need to thrive, but this seems worse? Did something happen or have the bird sections always been lacking? Or maybe I'm just in an unlucky area?

I'd appreciate any general first time owner advice (I've been using pigeon.guide for my info so far), or if anyone has trusted online retailers or knows of any stores in the Pittsburgh area I should check, please let me know :)
