Chandeliers and spike pits are back as environmental hazards in Belmont's Revenge

Another day, another drop of info.

Before people ask if anyone was wondering about chandeliers coming back, that's just what the post itself is titled.

A short clip showing chandeliers as an environmental hazard. They're also damaging to enemies so that's a good thing to have a confirmation on.

The second female enemy carrying the wooden crucifix in the clip I could not identify. My Castlevania knowledge could just be failing me here but I don't recall a similar enemy in any of the 2D games, but I also don't trust my memory.

Lastly another new music track. This one is very gothic with pipe organ, the stuff you expect from the series. Very Chapel/Cathedral sounding. Only interesting part is where this is playing. This is still the same seemingly early game area that has been in the previous clips, so areas seem to have multiple area themes in them?

On a side note, I do like the speed the protagonist runs at. With the devs' previous output you'd expect the movement to be similar to modern indie Metroidvanias, but this feels more like the older games with more platforming options added in. Seems good so far.

Candle sticks are back as environmental objects containing item drops, or in this case it’s street lamps. Not a major revelation, but it’s yet another clip from a new area in the game with some info to glean out.

Once again, the protagonist only has her sword and the Cross sub weapon. This is a different area from what they’ve shown in the other clips so I’m not sure if this is just marketing trying to hide details by using custom environment or if you pass through a number of areas at the start before getting your standard kit.

There is a flash before the Cross sub weapon is thrown out. It’s used in its traditional fashion so not sure what the meaning of the rectangle that flashes on screen is. Makes it seem like the Cross was some special move but without a HUD we can’t tell what the cost for the sub weapon is.

Lastly, a snippet of a new music track. We know Michiru Yamane isn’t working on this so I had no idea what to expect, and what I heard from the Return to Castlevania collab isn’t exactly what I wanted stylistically. This however sounds different than both RTC and what the series has done before. Wonder if KONAMI has an in-house/contracted composer do the music or if this is Evil Empire’s own collaborator. Either ways I’m excited to hear more.
