I have a 3 year surgical scar near my chin and since then it has turned white, however, the skin around it is still red which creates an obvious border around the scar. I was wondering if anyone knew how to get rid of the redness around it? Would it just be the silicone sheets/gels or would this require skincare/serums instead? I'm also a bit afraid of using any skincare near the scar as it is prone to inflammation, so would appreciate specific products I could search up.
FYI during the initial stages of healing I misused the silicone gel and sheets (used too little and the sheets I cut too small so it didn't fit properly), and have just started properly using it. I'm not sure how well the gel or sheet will work on my more mature scar but I've heard varying results so hoping for the best.
