MIM neck
I have a MIM strat that has a couple issues I’ve been working on for years. The nut files down almost to the wood, gives me OK clearance, but could go even lower. I’d like some more leeway. I’ve scratched into the wood and even had to sand behind the low E string to keep the string from touching behind the nut.
And the G string rings like a bell open and rattles a little. The nut has acceptable clearance.
I’m down to wondering if the neck angle is the problem. My saddles are all the way down and I get right to the action height I want. 0.05 low E and 0.05 high E with minimal buzzing. But the saddles are slammed all the way down.
Any ideas?
I can post pictures when I get home from work if necessary.
I’ve put in an American strat bridge, leveled the frets, and replaced the nut with a TUSQ nut.
Edit: neck relief is acceptable, I usually go as flat as I can be but currently it has some relief due to the weather changes
