Plot of New LAO

My version of pathway the format of EVERY case the new LAO pursues:

  1. Violent intro where you can always guess who the victim will be unlike in the original series (although after watching a few episodes, the viewer soon learns how to guess even that).

  2. First suspect arrested after initially fleeing from cops (usually after knocking over a fruit or magazine stand).

  3. Eventually viewer is able to determine with complete confidence, which key piece of evidence that will PROVE defendant was guilty will be kicked out by trial judge for no valid reason .

  4. Actual perpetrator is now arraigned by Maroun..

  5. Perpetrator is always remanded to custody with no bail or super high bail to add tension.

  6. Eventually, actual bad guy is arraigned by Maroun and is properly remanded to custody (because suspect did it and is a POS).

  7. Immediately after arraignment, Defense attorney is handed copy motion to dismiss by perpetrator's defense attorney that the viewer already determined what it was and it is invariably the key evidence that had already been guessed correctly by viewer.

  8. The trial judge nvariably throws that piece of evidence out for no valid, legal reason.

  9. Trial begins now with a case so bad, the prosecution would likely plea down in real life.

10 Eventually Maroun has crisis of conscience and gets angry, and viewer begins to wonder why she ever became an assistant DA.).

  1. Key piece of evidence is bounced by judge, generally on a filmsy technicality that angers viewer because its so stupid in middle of case.

  2. Good case has now become crappy case and is now being fought in court despite this.

  3. DA office or detectives ordered by the DA to find new evidence that is the smoking gun they should of discovered in the first place, Viewers are now relieved.

  4. Defense attorney asks witness on stand a question that would get defense attorney disbarred and the judge properly overrules the objection.

  5. Camera pans jurors showing new skepticism after the hint of what the answer would have been if the question in 14 would have been allowed; leading viewer to conclude that at least some jurors will apparently be deeply affected to void any possibility of guilty verdict.

  6. Price makes brilliant closing statement making statements he SHOULD have made in his opening statement (expressed as what he intended to prove which he can legally state).

  7. Jury does not make jury nullification argument to aquit and finds the defendant guilty.

  8. Caroun's eyes glisten because she abandoned her every shred of integrity or morality..

Some episodes may follow a different model... but not many.
