I built PublicPin to make local civic issues visible. What makes a community report trustworthy?
Hi, I’m Ajay, the creator of PublicPin. I’d always wondered how to make the public issues around us more visible, so I built a small civic-reporting app.
It’s free: take a fresh photo, choose a category and use your current GPS location to add an issue to a public map. No signup is required. Photos are reviewed before appearing publicly, and the app suggests similar reports nearby. People can confirm that an issue is still there or submit a resolution update.
PublicPin is independent. It doesn’t send official complaints to government agencies or guarantee repairs.
For people who’ve worked on civic reporting, what evidence would you want before trusting a resolution update? I’d appreciate practical feedback, particularly from those familiar with Kerala or Karnataka.
