I’m a freshman who just got rejected from Duke. I can’t help but feeling down about it.

I’m from a T15, have a 4.0 and 1540 SAT, and I thought I had good rec letters and ecs. I applied as public policy and sociology but ranked public policy 1st.

I believe it must have been because I had a 92 UW in high school with numerous Bs. Still I wish I could’ve at least gotten waitlisted.

I’m worried I don’t have a chance for the rest of the schools I applied to (Brown and Penn). Maybe I have a chance at Brown because I’m full pay?

Now I wish I applied to more because I’m really miserable here.

I was wondering if there was any merit to it?

Apparently people said it worked for other schools. I had the deny/defer for Penn but not Duke or brown
