Paying for Suno, but I can’t upload my own music because of false copyright blocks
I’m running into a very frustrating problem with Suno.
I’m a musician and rights holder of my own songs. Some of my music is published online and available for free download, but it is absolutely not free of copyright.
When I try to upload my own tracks to Suno to create cover versions or new versions, Suno blocks the upload and says:
“This audio matches an existing recording. Our system matched this upload to a known recording. If you own the rights, please contact support@suno.com.”
That’s exactly the issue: I do own the rights.
I understand the need for copyright protection, but if the system blocks the actual rights holder from using their own music, there needs to be a proper verification process. Otherwise, paying users who are legitimate musicians cannot use the service as advertised.
Has anyone managed to get Suno to whitelist their own catalog or verify their rights holder status?
I’d be interested to know whether support can actually solve this, or whether this is just a hard limitation of the platform right now.

UPDATE: I don't know if it is because of this post but I got a (probably a.i. generated) reply by suno. If anybody is interested here it is:
>Hey!
Thanks so much for reaching out, and for sharing the background on your music — over a decade of original work and 1,000+ handmade songs is seriously impressive!
I completely understand how frustrating it is to be blocked from working with your own catalog. Here's what's happening: when you upload audio to Suno, our system runs copyright-detection checks against music that's been published on the internet. Because your songs are publicly available on your website and potentially other platforms, the system sees the fingerprint match and blocks the upload — not because anything is wrong, but because it's working exactly as designed to protect artists like you. The same block that's catching your own music is what prevents anyone else from uploading and remixing your work without your permission.
Unfortunately, there is currently no way for us to manually clear or whitelist specific uploads through support — the artist verification pathway that would let verified creators work with their own 100%-owned catalog is actively in development. We can't promise a specific timeline or that your particular uploads will be unblocked before that system launches, but building it out so musicians like you can work with your own catalog is a priority.
In the meantime, the best path forward is to work with other music — new material you create fresh within Suno won't trigger the same catalog fingerprint match, so you can still use your Premier plan fully for original AI-assisted creations.
We really appreciate your patience while we build out the right tools for working artists. We'll look forward to welcoming you into the artist verification system when it's ready!
Warm regards, Suno Support
