Today's Episode (02.06.2026)
This may be one of the worst Coronation Street episodes ever written. Daniel's realisation of it being Jodie felt wholly rushed - a super sloppy escalation and dialogue. Also even a drunk Daniel I think would have made a better case for himself in the pub, we've seen that before - drinking makes him more pointed sometimes.
David believing Jodie - for even a moment - and opening up to her about Shona felt so daft too. David has literally caught Jodie out in her lies before - with ease!
The idea that she just didn't tell him about saying "Jodie" that night because she didn't want to upset him so she kept it to herself is not one I think he'd believe. She literally tried to convince him of what happened in front of Sarah - ferociously and with details that she embellished, and even went to the point of accusing him of playing the victim (disgusting). Of course she would have said at the time "you said my name!" if that were the case. And David has shown himself to be a character sharp enough to spot that!
Kind of stunned by how out of step the quality of these scenes were compared to the usual.
