Philips hair dryer literally caught fire after normal use
I had a Philips BHD274 hair dryer that was purchased in December 2020, and recently the motor suddenly burned and started throwing actual flames during normal use.
Not smoke. Flames.
Thankfully I unplugged it immediately and nothing else caught fire, but honestly this feels completely unacceptable for a household appliance from a major brand. I understand products age, but a hair dryer failing in a way that creates a fire hazard is something else entirely.
Model: Philips BHD274
Purchase date: 07 December 2020
I’ve already contacted Philips customer service because this seems like a serious safety issue, not just “wear and tear.”
Has anyone else experienced this with Philips hair dryers or similar appliances?
