How can I stop getting tight/anxious on the forehand?
The problem is that I did a lot of shadow swings in my room and researched/thought about the forehand more than I actually played tennis and I only just realized that it has done more harm than good. I have probably seen like thousands of vids and shorts.
I am playing since a year and I feel confident hitting all my shots expect for the forehand. My racket face is super inconsistent and I hit way too spiny and high. I often miss the ball completely, push the ball or I am late due to thinking too much.
Yesterday a coach at the club who was observing my game told me that I am way too tight during the take back and not giving myself enough room to hit. I am already using my off hand to create space but my main hand is the problem as it stays pretty much tucked in to my belly during the prep.
I think the root for that is my anxiety , tightness and overthinking of the forehand, but how can I stop doing that?
I think I will just focus on being athletic and free/present the following weeks and see what happens , but do you have any tips to fix that?
thanks in advance already
