Not wanting to baptise kids

My husband and I have been married for a few years now and while we don’t have kids we know that’s where we see ourselves heading in a few years.

I’m from a Hindu family and my husband is catholic. We’re both not very religious though.

When we have kids, I can see the expectation from his parents and family will be to have the child baptised but I feel very strongly against it. I don’t want to agree to raise a child in a religion and basically convert them into one religion when me and my husband are married with two different religions. We don’t live in India and have both been raised in another country so there isn’t crazy pressure but I know it will come.

I’m not sure how to navigate that. I know it’s something we should have confirmed before marriage but I feel very strongly against it.

Am I immature?

My IL’s are generally good and nice people but little things they do irritate me.

We are all living overseas. My husband and I were raised here. They live around 30 mins away from us. If I don’t call my MIL almost every day she gets an attitude, if we don’t see them every week (sometimes multiple times a week) they get upset. They don’t give any notice at all when they want to come over.

Sometimes in the middle of the day my MIL will message me that they’re coming over for dinner and brining food. It really irritates me.

I haven’t been brought up to constantly have someone upset over every small thing like a child and it makes me wonder what type of behaviour they’ll have once we have kids.

I can imagine it’ll be so much more intrusive and constant.

Am I being immature? I have been brought up with more western values and I don’t want to live my life based around my IL’s but their constant attitude really annoys me.

Husband invited family friends for the first time in our home when I’m not there

My husband was on the phone to his cousin as they are visiting my IL’s house. He invited them over (this would be their first visit to our house) on the phone in front of me without any prior discussion.

I’ll be working in the office and have a catch up dinner with a friend after work so I won’t be able to be there when they come. I’d already told him this prior to his call.

I find it really disrespectful that a guest is going to be coming to my house for the first time and only my husband and IL’s will be there. It feels like I’m treated like an outsider in my own home and my husband doesn’t care if I’m there or not because his parents are there.

Am I right for feeling upset?
