I am doing engineering project appraisal and got my assignment 2 back. There are some sections that I’m unclear on why I got the marks I got, so I asked the tutor for an explanation and she told me to contact the coordinator. I contacted the subject coordinator saying I just want explanation on how I did wrong and how I can improve them. But the coordinator is telling me to submit the remark request form. I don’t want to get remarked because I’m barely passing the subject and if I get remarked and got marked down, I’ll probably fail. There is a rubric but it’s so generic that the marking is based on whether the marker likes my report or not. I just want an explanation on where I got wrong and how to improve. Is there any way I should tell the coordinator? Any help would be appreciated.🙏

How do I ensure that I don’t get mark down when asking for a review of the result. Are there certain words that I should avoid. Thank you very much. I am requesting in hopes of getting my marks up.

I am doing engineering project appraisal subject this semester. I got really bad grades 12.5 on first one and 14.5 on second one. Both out of 30. I have never performed this bad in a subject as I have always gotten mostly distinctions and high distinctions in every other subject. So far, I think I might fail this subject and I’m really worried to tell my parents because I’m an international student and this might affect my visa. I honestly don’t understand what I did so wrong in this subject. I attended all workshops and tutorials (only missed one tutorial because I was really sick). I participated in tutorials and learned every material but it still isn’t enough. I think I understood every material and followed the marking criteria but the tutors still didn’t like my work. I really did try my best in completing the assignment but in the end it just didn’t pay off. I’m so disappointed and scared to tell my parents because I did well in other subjects but this one subject is just killing me. I honestly don’t know what to do anymore. I have emailed my tutors for mark review and I hope they can help me. Has this happened to anyone? Any help would be appreciated.
