EASY FIX! Westinghouse 300 Easycare Front Loader Washing Machine. This range is notorious for having unresponsive touch screens but in 99% of cases there is a quick fix that I figured out!

As the title, the touchscreen easily becomes unresponsive. Then it seems like nothing will bring it back. I've read reviews where people say they have replaced the touchscreen more than once, at great cost, and it still has the same problem.

The problem, I figured out, is that the touchscreen is sensitive to humidity, which is a terrible design flaw for a washing machine which by its very nature is designed to work in a humid environment (a laundry room!).

Here's the quick dirty fix though:

Use a hair dryer, pointed at the touchscreen on low heat, hold it about a foot and a half (roughly 50cm) away from the touch screen.

Do this for about 30 seconds.

Do not use high heat. Do not use for very long. Just enough to reduce the humidity behind the panel.

The touchscreen will then become responsive again.

It works everytime.

You're welcome!

I know it's a cheap, dirty fix, but this problem in this machine only pops up when the weather is really wet, so you may not have to use this fix that often, and besides, according to the review sites, replacing the touch screen is expensive and doesn't even fix the problem by the sound of things!

Here's the link that shows how common this problem is, which is a very frustrating problem because the touch screen goes unresponsive but everything else in the machine is working perfectly: https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/westinghouse-easycare-300-series-wwf7524n3wa-75kg
