I'm sick of having to make a bunch of food runs just to read something, or having to ignore all the scans and a lot of main story stuff until I can get back to a base to actually read it.

I love stories set in worlds that are completely alien to our earth. Stuff like the first Avatar movie, where a large part of the plot is the main character learning about Pandora and all its creatures. Or like Way of Kings, I was fascinated by a world with regular hurricanes and how that effects their culture and wildlife. Even in books where that isn't the main draw, I always find myself wanting to read more about these alien characters and their history and culture when they show up. What are some books where the setting is a main part of the story, or at least an interesting backdrop to it?
