I think I might be crazy. Compass Mod UPDATE

This is an update to my previous post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/casioroyale/s/nGkXER3SDX

The popularity of the last post was unexpected and incredible. Since then, I have been thinking about this working compass mod idea non-stop. Members of the community have been awesome with workshopping ideas and even giving me a crash course in electro-magnetism and faraday cages.

My goal for this mod is a functional survival compass, that could be a good backup in a pinch. But as Reddit user u/LiesofLurkLamora pointed out, this video shows you how you can use a normal watch face to help determine your bearing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?si=1gyg-MKZP\_4JjHNl&v=SXd8MsM8dzw&feature=youtu.be&themeRefresh=1

The Mod will improve over a few steps.
First step is getting the compass small enough to fit in the watch. Even with the smallest survival compasses I could find on the market, it still sits too tall to essentially be free-floating between the glass and the module. I have ideas on how to execute this, and my journey has even taken me to a local metal craft workshop to get some more refined tools to potentially make my own compass.

So we’re moving along, and what I have here is a non-functioning prototype to get a feel for what the mod will look like!

Shout out to u/Ptr3nt13 for brainstorming with me and workshopping the mod on his end. Check him out at trenttechtickers.com, he also helped me create an awesome faceplate for a gift (separate post incoming)!

One of my first ideas was getting a working compass installed on this watch. With a liquid mod, I think it should work, so long as I can suspend the compass (and find some way to stop it from moving around or getting stuck on the face.

Does this seem doable? I found a compass small enough to fit the diameter but the center pin may be a little too thick to fit the module in.

Does anybody in the community have thoughts on this? Much appreciated.
