Is it normal for a dirt planted tank to look like this after a week. Seems like a lot of the plants are stressed and experiencing melting. Is there anything i should be concerned about.

I have been so excited to get this tank going. I had the hard scape looking great. After planting 150 dollars of plants my driftwood that i had staged started to float and messed up everything i had planned. I grabbed the drift wood from my dad, who said he had boiled it in the past and it would sink. Should I leave it submerged the way I have it or would it just be better to take it out? This is my first go at a filterless set up and I want to try my best to get it right. Kind adnice and direction would be greatly appreciated. I am so stressed because the whole thing looks so ridiculous now. Thank you all:)
