So I got this vehicle 2002
Honda odyssey last year. Came with 110k. Currently 115k. Well the previous owner took
Amazing cafe of it. Not a spec of rust. All doors and buttons work, it seems it
Had 2 owners. One who’s work
Done to it is quite exstensive and really kept it up
To standard and logged it. The 2nd owner also took amazing care of it and definitely did upgrade and the breaks. And new Tires and a few
Other things That I’ve been able To
Verify, unfortunately he wasn’t as much as a note
Keeper as the first. So here’s my questions. My
Manual says the timing belt /water pump should be changed at every 7 years or 120k miles. What ever comes
First. Since the car is over due 3x if going by 7 years. And just reaching the 120k mark, in
Just finding it hard to believe that neither of these 2 owners who were great at upkeep didn’t do anything here . So is there a way to tell by my
Self? Like would there be any tool marks that shows yea it’s been removed before. Or maybe if the timing belt isn’t OEM then that would be a sign of probably
Changed.

Any other ideas what to look for to make a determination? Can I see the water pump or is it a lot of work just to see it. Agian checking if it’s stock or
New.
Also
What are signs I should look out for if these are all stocks and past their life? Will the belt look or feel a social way? Will the water pump do anything to prove it’s failing? Left a friends house yesterday and noticed a small wet spot under car. Smelt like anti freeze. But couldn’t tell if it was from me. I heard a bad water pump could cause this, so currently
Keeping eye on fluid level with cardboard under
Car. I just don’t wanna replace something that’s possibly recently
Beeen replaced. So what can I look for as far as parts wear and tear and tell marks

Thanks
