Multi-gen trip to Costa Rica (3yo & grandparents)
Hi all- I’m trying to nail down our itinerary for Costa Rica this Dec & would appreciate advice! We’re traveling w 3 grandparents (all fairly active) and our 3yo. We like a mix of things: some more adventurous, others more laidback. We’re thinking two destinations: 1) Papagayo resort (5 nights), 2) TBD - debating La Fortuna or Manuel Antonio (3-4 nights). We were originally hoping to book the Nayara Tents but they and The Springs are sold out.
For the Papagayo leg, we are leaning towards the Nekajui Ritz property bc the 3-4 bedroom villa is more reasonably priced than the Four Seasons, and one set of chubby grandparents doesn’t feel like the Andaz is “luxury enough.”
For either La Fortuna or Manuel Antonio- where would you stay? Open to this one being a little more rustic/authentic - either resort or villa/Airbnb.
A few questions:
- How many days would you stay in one vs the other
- Any favorite activities at or near the Ritz that are toddler or pregnancy friendly (other than beach)
- Which would you recommend- La Fortuna or Manuel Antonio and why? Any recommendations on best places to stay?
- Recommended babysitters in any of the locations?
- Any other considerations?
Thanks in advance!
