Looking into Indie Animation as an Author
Hello, I'm a fiction author with a young adult fantasy series very similar to The Owl House and have always had this dream of turning my books into a tv show (as authors do lol). I don't know why but I'm kind of starting to feel a little deadset on this idea now (I've always had a "no one can tell me no" mindset and don't want to deal with Hollywood gatekeepers and all the like...I'll just do it myself like a crazy person)...I've started doing a little looking into indie animation and what goes into it, but I am curious if any of you have worked on an indie animated show, if you have any advice for someone who is JUST starting to look into this whole process. If anyone has any resources on finding animators, what sort of fees to expect, or any resources in general for someone who is really wanting to see their book babies come to life.
In my head I'm thinking how this will work is I hire someone to do the first episode of the tv show and then run a kickstarter campaign for the rest of the series. Or something along those lines. (I've done many Kickstarters and am very familiar with and have an audience on the platform).
Anyways, thank you much in advance!!
