Just want to ask the people of Birmingham
I’m researching a new local idea for a calm, private sensory space designed for children and families who experience overwhelm, anxiety, or sensory overload.
The idea is a quiet, bookable room where people can relax and regulate emotions in a safe environment, using calming lights, soft textures, and gentle interactive features.
It would be suitable for children (and possibly adults) who find busy environments stressful or overstimulating, as well as families who just need a calm break from day-to-day pressure.
Before I develop it further, I’m trying to understand if this is something people would actually use locally.
Would a space like this be useful in your area? What would you want it to include—or what do you feel is currently missing for families dealing with overwhelm or stress?
