I've been hand-carving skulls and scattering them around for people to find.

As an odd sort of hobby, I've been carving these little skulls from cork, painting them and hiding them around the UK (primarily Birmingham). I attach tags to each skull with my IG handle as well as a name unique to that skull. I know that if I were to find something like this out in the wild it'd make my day, so it's fulfilling to know that they'll be found by those on their travels.

My hope is that lots of people will share their finds with me. I like knowing they've gone to good homes.

Good pubs near the bus station?

Bonus if it’s showing the Brazil v Norway match and NOT the England match. My partner is travelling through with two huge bags and doesn’t want to get through lots of fans / crowds, but would still like to watch the Mexico Norway match if possible!

If that’s not possible then any good pub not showing England will be grand. TIA x

Massage for relaxation/fatigue

It would also be great if it is a deep tissue massage, I am looking to gift it to my friend. I am not from there so I don't know what or where would suit him the most, deep tissue is preferred. Please let me know!

Birmingham safety and crime

I'm planning to move to Birmingham and am currently apartment hunting. My work office is fairly central, so I'm trying to figure out which parts of the city are considered safer to rent in for a woman living alone.

I know Birmingham's overall crime rate is high, and I'm particularly concerned about violent and sexual crime rather than things like theft or antisocial behaviour. Which areas would you recommend looking at, and are there any areas you'd suggest avoiding?

Thanks in advance!

Free fitness bootcamps

Looking for something different?

If you're a bloke aged 18+, why not come and give us a try?

We're just a bunch of ordinary guys who get together early in the morning for a FREE outdoor workout. No gym memberships, no pressure, no egos—just a great way to start the day.

The funny thing is, none of us knew each other beforehand. We all turned up as strangers, and along the way we've built some genuine friendships, had plenty of laughs, and always look out for one another.

All fitness levels are welcome. Whether you're super fit, getting back into exercise, or haven't worked out in years, you'll fit right in. Every workout can be adapted to suit you, and you'll never be left behind.

It's not about being the fastest or the strongest

it's about showing up, encouraging each other, and leaving in a better place than when you arrived.

And to all the ladies... if there's a husband, partner, brother, son, dad, or mate in your life who you think would benefit from getting out, meeting some good men, and moving a little more, please give them a gentle nudge and encourage them to come along.

The hardest part is turning up that first morning.

After that, you're among friends.

Come as you are. We'd love to meet you.

Message me directly

or comment on the post and I'll message you

How to find job without expirience?

I'm 19 yo, living in city centre. I was looking for part time job for more than 6 month. I don't have any job expirience and no car. Was applying on indeed for anything: retail, warehouse, hospitality, restaurant stuff, barista. Also, I used company websites like Tesco, gave my CV to job agency, irl adverts on windows etc. What would you suggest doing?

I've just been touching up the Middle Earth style fantasy map of Brum that I made a while ago. Thanks again to all those who contributed back then!

As if this was three years ago now. As one of the first urban maps I made, it's still one of my favourite maps so far.

I've just been doing some tidying up jobs on it and making some of the text more legible, as well as the imagery clearer. Again, thanks to all the commenters who suggested ideas and really helped bring this to life. I've just had a fresh batch made up here for anyone interested in one.

Are there any Malaysians here in Birmingham?

Just moved for work.. Really miss home now and feeling lonely. Adapting to life here is tough. I really miss the food.

Hope there’s some Malaysians/ Singaporeans around to help with the transition …

Birmingham - One of my Artworks that I did at University

I thought that it would be good to share at least one of my Birmingham Artworks that I did at Staffordshire University on here.

I hope that people like it.

These are all photographs that I have taken and digitally manipulated.

NHS dentists (South Brum)?

Hi all, wondering if anyone can help me? My partner needs to join an NHS dentist, ideally in south Birmingham (KH, Mos, Selly Park/Oak, Stirchley etc). Can anyone recommend one who doesn't have a huge waiting list? Appreciate this might be wishful thinking...

Thanks in advance.

Safe to stay in Small Heath?

Hi All,

I will be working in Birmingham for a few months and my employer has offered me accommodation in Small Heath.

Is this a safe area? I can see it is close to the centre but Google suggests maybe I should ask for somewhere else.

I am a White guy in my mid 20s. I know that is not the usual demographic in that area.

I don't mind (actually find it quite interesting) but just want to know if it is safe for me coming back from work etc!

Any comments much appreciated.

What to visit and do around Birmingham in January/winter?

(this subred was recommended to me on another post) Hi! I'm Italian and I've been invited to my childhood friend's wedding who will take place next January in Birmingham. Her family comes from India but now lives there, and she will have a traditional Indian wedding with celebrations lasting a whole weekend. I'm thinking about adding 2-3 extra days after the party to take advantage of the trip and explore the surrounding area. I've been researching what's worth to visit nearby, and I came to the conclusion that a good idea would be to go to BathCotswolds and Oxford, before flying back to Italy. Does it still make sense to visit them in January, especially the Cotswolds? I'm a bit afraid of the shitty weather and the early dark. Please let me know your recommendations on where I could go not too far from Birmingham and what to do, and any tips that come to your mind regarding anyting! I've already been to London so I'd like to go somewhere different. Thank you in advance!
