Helicopter over Birmingham centre 16 Aug
A helicopter has been hovering since 7:30am today (Sunday 16 Aug), does anyone know why? Is it something to do with the athletics?
It’s been going for 2 hours so far and my Sunday lie-in has been destroyed. 😞

Posting for the first time, because I was genuinely shocked by something I witnessed yesterday near the Mailbox.
Many of us have enjoyed watching the family of Canada geese that have been raising six goslings along the canal. The first photo is one of the goslings I took the day before.
Yesterday I saw a man on a bicycle deliberately ride into the geese and then repeatedly chase the parents and goslings across the residential estate on the corner of Bridge Street by the big steps up to the Mailbox.
The geese were clearly distressed and trying to get away.
This went on for over 100 yards all the way to the Premier Inn.
I went round to the other side of the canal and challenged him. He told me he didn’t want the geese on the estate.
Whether you like geese or not, these are wild animals with young chicks and there’s no justification for deliberately frightening or harassing them.
I’m posting this mainly so that anyone who sees similar behaviour can challenge it.
Has anyone else seen people bothering the geese around this area, or know the best organisation to report incidents like this to?
