Is it ok I want to find a new Church?

Like the title says, I messed up in communion when receiving the Eucharist. I have been Catholic for three years now and sometimes mess up from time to time and say “thanks be to Christ” when receiving the Eucharist as I was Lutheran for 22 years. Typically I correct myself right away and say amen.

I have been attending a church for about a year now and this is not the church I went through OCIA at. The associate pastor today during communion took the Eucharist back from me after saying thanks be to Christ and questioned if I was Catholic, how long I’ve been Catholic, how long I’ve been attending the Church, and why I don’t know what to say. I messed up, and I understand that, but we were in the middle of communion when he did this. I was absolutely mortified when he did this and I am really wondering if I messed up that badly to warrant a response like that. I mean, the entire area next to us heard and the pastor had to nudge him to keep going. Is it wrong that I don’t necessarily want to go back to this church and find a new one? The associate pastor has served me communion multiple times before as I attend regularly, so I’m a bit surprised he acted like he did not know me. I just can’t wrap my head around what happened besides feeling extremely embarrassed.

Can’t find a job

Hi all, I’m in the western suburbs of Chicago and can’t find a middle or high school social studies job. I want to teach, and have my masters, but can’t find anything. I’m thinking at this point in the summer, I may need to look at something else.

I’m just so mad as I want to teach and have loved teaching these past six years, but after leaving the private school sphere in hopes to go back to teaching public, I just can’t find anything. That goes for both public and private! Do I give up searching for a teaching job? If so, what else could I do? I really don’t want to sub as I get bored easily and need something to do, and I need something that can give me benefits. Any advice would be appreciated.

ETA: wow thank you all for helping and your advice! I wanted to add some more info. I am licensed in ECE, 9-12 History, and 5-8 Social Studies in Illinois, and 4-12 broad field social studies in Wisconsin. I have been interviewing in both states primarily in the Janesville and Aurora/Elgin areas. I truly posted this as a way to see what more there is to working in the education field, but a lot of you have been sending me DMs about jobs at your school, so I thank you.

ETA2: I am not in Chicago, if you ever see me in the city, start running cause that means something is wrong lol. I would love to get further away from the city if possible.

Can’t Find a Teaching Job

Hi all, I’m in the western suburbs of Chicago and can’t find a middle or high school social studies job. I want to teach, and have my masters, but can’t find anything. I’m thinking at this point in the summer, I may need to look at something else. What jobs have you all gone to that is in the education field, but isn’t teaching? I want to teach so badly, but I guess I’m giving up hope that I can after leaving the school I was at these past couple of years. So now, I want to at least stay in the education field and try again next year.

New Watcher

Hi all, I just started watching this season. Can someone break down Big Brother for me?

I’ve gathered it’s like regular competition shows (I’ve seen the traitors, house of villains, and survivor), but there seems to be more lore than what I’ve been able to see so far.

Should I reapply?

I originally applied to a position but was not considered because of my graduate work. They’re still looking for a teacher for this position, I still don’t have a position for this school year, so would it be wrong if I reapply but don’t mention my graduate work? I’m fine not being paid on the scale for my grad work as long as I can get a job.

If they call your references, do you have the job?

I had a second round interview yesterday where they mentioned calling my references and letting me know the next steps early next week. Is this a good sign? My family is relocating and I would love to have a contract before we buy a house, so I’m not sure what to think right now lol!

This is a public school district!

Refusal to do work slips?

What are our thoughts on students signing refusal to work slips or late work contracts? I’m thinking of implementing this but I am unsure what the general consensus is. I teach at a public school of ~600 students.

Adair on VDPV

I’m watching vanderpump villa and Adair is the new housekeeper. I was so surprised as I feel like I haven’t seen anyone talk about this! I loved Adair and felt like she was so down to earth on deck, I’m surprised as well to see her in the housekeeping side of things.
