Metal sided pool support came loose from bottom metal ring while installing filling new liner.

Need some advice. Pool has been in since 2008. Metal supports all positioned on hard clay. Changed the liner last summer, first time in 17 years. A bit of a learning curve. Removed liner. Resurfaced bottom. Put in new wall foam at base.

My son-in-law helped me and it went fairly fast. The downside is he would leave out some screws when installing the rails. Stretched the liner over the rails to get it positioned before putting in water. He was not patient with detaching and reattaching clips to position the liner and pulled too hard and put a hole on the liner below the water line. We patched it and it made it through a winter.

Started putting water in it and didn’t put the rails on soon enough. One of the metal supports slipped off the bottom ring on one end and has about a 1/4” gap up to a foot from the base. The rail is firmly attached. I worry about the system failing.

Should I replace the liner and get that support back in place? Not sure if I can get it back under the metal wall. Anyone have experience with this? Really don’t want to come home one day and have flooded the neighbors.

Inspection of the area from inside the pool shows that one piece of bottom foam that is angled did not stay in place and road partly up the wall. May have contributed to the problem.

Thanks for reading this far. Any advice or shared experience with this is appreciated.
