I am done with feminism
Im just done with feminism
Context:I am 16
I agree that women have it hard in india. My own mother's experience was horrible, my relatives and family mocked her relentlessly for how she was dark-skinned, and she wanted to continue working after having me. I was shy growing up, still am a bit. But even this was blamed on my mom's job, cus apparently she didn't teach me how to talk and shit like that.
So i understand the need to change society, but i dont think feminism is the answer.
I used to be friends with so many girls who called themselves "feminists". Guys as well. My entire group was like that. But what i realised was, as a guy you will always be the oppressor, a representative of an evil side, no matter how good your heart is. You will always be only "one of the rare good men" and "an exception" not just a good man or a good person.
I had a recent incident that highlights this:
I had a conversation with a feminist friend of mine irl, who i no longer talk to. When i brought up topics like how feminist groups oppose gender neutral rape laws and how 498a is being weaponised, all she said was:
"you have oppressed us for thousands of years so why can't we punish you a tiny bit for it?"
This happened in a public friend group btw, there were 4 guys and 3 girls and the girls were supporting her and none of the guys supported me, cus they were too scared of being judged.
I haven't oppressed anyone, i haven't done anything to anyone. I knew her almost since birth btw, and she knows i am a good person, yet this movement has infected her so much that she doesn't see me, she only sees a "man" an "enemy".
You go to instagram and it is genuine hell, the kind of reels with literal millions of upvotes about how the "male species" is cancerous is insane.
I am so done with this movement infecting women of our generation man. Like every single girl who calls herself a feminist has HORRIBLE opinions about men. Online, offline everywhere.
Im just done with any movement that hates people for things that they cannot control (that includes the current government and the way they blindly hate a certain community btw.)
