Mama deer gives birth in my yard every year — this year’s fawn has a limp and won’t stop crying

A doe has been coming to my yard to give birth every year, so I’ve gotten pretty familiar with her and her fawns. This year’s baby has a noticeable limp but can still get around okay — doesn’t seem totally debilitated.

The crying is what’s worrying me most though. It’s been going on all day and I’m not sure if that’s normal stress/adjustment or a sign something’s really wrong.

Has anyone dealt with an injured fawn before? Should I call a wildlife rehabber just to be safe, or is this something that can heal on its own? Mama seems to be around so I don’t want to interfere unnecessarily.
