GROUND YOUR RIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not much else to say. If you are a simracing newbie just like me, please be sure to ground your rig.
I know it is common knowledge, but sometimes phantom inputs are not so easy to spot as they may appear when switching your equipment or changing your driving style.
In my personal experience, my wheelbase (simagic alpha evo sport) was the source of strong EMI that travelled all the way up to the pedals (simmson plus x) via the cockpit structure. This has been a problem as soon as I started racing in RSF on a stage with very tight corners - when the steering wheel reached its locking limit, the strong parasite current (resulting from the wheelbase generating strong reaction forces to oppose to the steering action) would cause a spurious signal up to the brake load cell, leading to a strong in-game brake and thus the engine to turn off at every hairpin. It took some time for me to understand this was the reason for this strange and frustrating behavior.
This problem has been fixed by simply connecting the grounding wire provided by simsonn itself to a nearby wider metal structure.
So yes, ground your rig.
