I think 1997 was the last time Labour won an election because people actually wanted to vote for Labour.

I think Labour has long term problem appealing to enough people to win an election, after 1997 Labour has only won because they were the least worst option and the 2 times that Labour has had something to vote for, more people voted for the Conservatives.

So the problem that Labour has right now is something that's been a problem for a long time.

It truly astonishes me how deluded Starmer's supporters.

If Starmer were to remain as leader until the general election in 2029, he would likely have 4 sets of locals before the next election, as the ones in 2029 will likely be held on the same day as the general election.

Assuming the above is true, then Labour under Starmer has performed horribly in half of the local elections that Starmer will face as Prime Minister and yet his supporters would want him to go and lead Labour into the general election?!

The argument against the above would be that the second half would be smoother and more popular than the first, which doesn't look to be true based on the recent King speech, I don't see how any of that would be enough to turn the electorate in favour of you and the next king speech will be scheduled after the 2027 locals and so that would mean 75% of all the locals would have been a disaster for Labour.

I can't really see any reason why the backbenchers shutting up and getting behind Starmer would do anything but ensure a disastrous result in 2029, it's truly baffling how Starmer's supporters can't see this.

Henry Zeffman: I have not spoken to anyone on any wing of the Labour Party who believes Keir Starmer now has the authority in Labour or the support on the NEC to block Andy Burnham.

Luke Tryl: Doing this health warning now: MRP projections or UNS swings of Makerfield aren't designed for by-elections. They don't take account of specific nature of by-elections and Burnham's personal vote which from every focus group I can tell you is real. IMO Burnham starts as favourite

Do you think it's okay for the state to be supporting me through benefits?

I am 22m nearly 23, and I have Autism and severe dyspraxia, and I currently work only 2 hours a week on a Friday in the back of a charity shop, I feel I won't be able to a work full-time job as I tried to do a 30 hour college week and it lead me to have a mental breakdown that left me suicidal.

Do you think the above is a justifiable reason to be on benefits?
