20, Yes again, Bookmarks from Scraps - Chaos Edition

This set of bookmarks is to show everyone that just because it doesn't look like something, doesn't mean they can't still be pretty! Embrace the chaos!

These bookmarks were created mostly by accident.

When I make watercolor paintings I surround my work area with these pre-cut strips of paper (not actual watercolor paper, but archival scrap paper from an old job that I salvaged for years and saved boxes worth!)

I use the scraps to test colors, dilutions, washes, techniques etc.

When I finish a painting I have all these colorful rectangles laying about. Sometimes I will throw more paint on them if they aren't filled in enough. But mostly, I just let them dry and then I use a black pen and trace the different shapes the paint makes. If it starts to look like something, I lean into it. Some are better than others, but they were all made with basically the same technique.

This is a small sample. I have made hundreds.

Just sharing, I am not an art seller. This is just my hobby. Hope you enjoy!

\#2, 3, & 20 have hidden cats in them.

Made this a few weeks ago to force myself to include colors I normally shy from. So here are my reds and yellows, CC always welcome!

Still trying to figure out how this medium works. I really like this one. And I Love that I was able to paint this over a previous failed acrylic painting, definitely not something watercolors can do! Anyway CC always welcome.
