My palette:

Azo Gold
Pyrole Red
Pyrole Orange
Cadmium Yellow
Burnt Sienna
Raw Sienna
Burnt Umber Light

White Gesso

I’m painting with fluid acrylics from Golden Paints. I use white gesso to thicken my paint mixes and make them more opaque. I use Satin Glazing Liquid for glazing and thinning my mixes.

Markers:

For the base sketch I’m using alcohol markers in various brown colors from Copic.

Grounding:

After sketching, I ground my panel with a reddish orange mix of Azo Gold and Satin Glazing Liquid from Golden.

Surface:

16x16” ultra smooth Claybord panel from Ampersand Art Supply.

Blick Studio Synthetic Stroke ½” and 1”

48x24. Looking forward to having my space back as I’ve been squirming around between this canvas and the materials in my small space for a few months. But happy with the vibe of this final work!

I started painting a short while ago to help me deal with some things.

Its helping me to process thoughts that are too big to look straight on.

I paint them. Look at them while i think and then paint over it. There is a freedom erasing a though process before the spiral.

My husband wants to go on a concert (Courtney Barnett) and ask me if I can create him a shirt inspired by her album covers.
That’s my first try and worked better than expected

I've painted a lot of other flowers, but this is my first time painting these. ☺️🌻 This is 16 x 16 in. on upcycled canvas. I mix up all of my own paint, combining super heavy gel medium with heavy body acrylics to get that texture.
