My recent works

Just wanted to share my recent paintings! I just got back into the hobby in May and I’ve been having a lot of fun with painting animals! Apparently bears and sharks specifically😂 would love to hear some thoughts on my paintings!

How I spent today!

About 8 yrs ago, I did a paint your pet class with my son. I enjoyed it a lot and painted a few pets and people before moving onto the next hyperfocus. I decided to see if I could still do it. He’s not perfect, but it was a lot of fun!

How to get thinner lines?

How to get longer thinner lines like in the reference?

The reeds in the tutorial, they seem to just effortlessly create a long thin line from like the top of the canvas all the way down and i dont understand how. I run out of paint about a quarter of that distance and with more paint I get a thicker line. What am I doing wrong?

Filling in the texture of the canvas is another challenge, I feel i never have enough paint and when I add more it squishes off the sides of the brush.

Do I need to thin my paint or something? I like the paint viscosity and all that but cant get it to go far on the canvas.

Lonely Siren Cafe

I just completed this painting. I chose this image because I knew it would challenge me to paint the wine glass overlaying the face.

Each painting is a learning experience, I'm really happy with my progress through this painting.

First painting ever.

Kinda half followed a bob ross video until I realized he used oil pants and it’s not the same lol. Nonetheless I had a great time and look forward to learning new things and improving over time!
