New Staff Pharmacist - How Can I Advocate For Better Pay For My Techinicans?
Really the title says it all, I want to know how I can advocate for my technicians to have better wages
I was recently hired on in March and I came to find out from one of my technicians this evening that they are making more than the other technicians
Here's the kicker, they're only making $21.50/hr.....
I was expecting them to say they made at least $25/hr for how hard working they are!
My technicians at Walgreens, not even being certified or even remotely being the same quality of technician, were making $23/hr.......
I am angry and frustrated for my staff at the moment because they are some of the most knowledgeable and hard working technicians I have ever had the pleasure of working with
They deserve SO much more than what they are getting
I cannot perform my duties as well as I do now without their dedication and putting in the overtime and REALLY want them to be paid what they are worth.......ESPECIALLY since we had our hours cut and if not for a couple of technicians I have at the moment working over 40hrs/week the pharmacy would implode on itself so much worse than it does at the moment
Please, if any of you have a real and actionable way for me to advocate for them and actually have it translate into better wages for them please let me know. The pay they are getting now is truly insulting for how hard they work to compensate for the lack of resources we obviously need but wont get until "we sell more Rxs" -____-
