My favorite thing about Korean dramas is is when they are labeled as comedies and the first episode is just… so not that!!!! I’m reminded of this as I sit here finishing episode one of Wonderfools. Like, how do they keep getting away with this mislabeling?! And how do I keep falling for it?!?!

In the first episode we have death, mad science experiments, conspiracies, body dumping, and this is a comedy?! And yeah, ok there are some silly moments interspersed throughout, but overall this show is, at least in episode one, so much darker than I had anticipated.

Korea, consider this my love letter to your ability to bamboozle me into watching dramatic and sobering shows under the guise of it being a comedy. I can’t wait to cry for this show in the last 5 episodes like I always do!

Suffice to say, I’m so excited to watch more!!!! 😂

Small spoilers for anyone reading!

Ok I am probably soooooo late to this party, like I’m pretty sure it’s closing hour on this revelation in terms of how late I am, but I’m going through my 5th watch of HTCCC and I finally got the damned hedgehog thing.
Do you remember in one of the first episodes where Hye-Jin is told she’s like the hedgehog, and that she’s prickly and untrusting and everything? Like first off wow way to make a judgement in someone you barely know, but also it shows as she takes care of the hedgehog that not matter how much time passes, the prickles are still raised and it’s constantly in defense mode with almost everyone.

Now we can say that sounds like our FL for sure, but she doesn’t really get prickly and defensive for no reason (anyone wants to have a respectful discourse about this with me leave a comment 😂) but who do we see become prickly for no reason (as far as most viewers up to a certain point and def the characters)????? Chief FUCKING HONG!

Y’all. Hong Du-Sik is the freaking HEDGEHOG!!!! I just came to this realization a few minutes ago and screamed it at my tv, which of course scared my dog and my fiancé looked at me like I’m crazy but I DON’T CARE! Do you know how long the freaking hedgehog analogy has been bothering me?! Not long actually but still it’s nice to have that clarity! It always rubbed me wrong that people said Hye-Jin was the prickly one when Du-Sik definitely has those tendencies too, just better at hiding it.

Anyways I’m done back into my Netflix cave I go! Excited to see if anyone else already had this thought or is now freaking out with me!
