So funny story: I found these, which I have now discovered are wool sower galls. But when I saw them, they looked tasty and I was curious, so I immediately grabbed one and tasted a piece. It tasted like a strawberry, with a slightly spicy aftertaste. I then noticed this was an oak, that oaks don't make berries like this, and that it looked like a gall of some kind. And also thought "you know I probably shouldn't eat things when I don't know what they are." So I looked it up and realized I did indeed just taste a wasp gall!

So I just thought y'all might find my stupidity amusing, and in case anyone was ever curious about what they tasted like: spicy strawberries.
