My Screw Up
I know this isn’t breaking news to everyone and it’s one of, if not, the most highly rated and emotional episodes of the show. But this hit so much harder than it ever has in the past.
My father in law passed in January 2025 from pancreatic cancer. It was a relatively quick demise for him, from diagnosis, through chemo, to his death. My wife’s grief was extraordinary.
The funeral setup with us sitting nearby to the coffin at the grave was eerily similar (except for the rain), with the photo on the top.
It took me back to that day and I have to say I cried harder than I have for a long time. I think it’s been 7-8 years since I’ve watched this episode, but it really hit so hard this time.
Be there for your loved ones. You’ll never know when they’ll be gone.
Take care.
