lost a customer today
30-40 a month load reefer customer just cut me off.
was consistently moving their loads this entire year with little to no issue.
this customer is very price sensitive. last week we had about 10 loads all shipping on a saturday. most of my regulars couldnt do it due to "scheduling" issues. long story short i had to get a price increase from my customer. i notified them about the increase 1 day before the loads picked up and they flipped out on me. on average i increased each load by about $200.
all loads got shipped and delivered on time. fast forward to this week and they havent asked for a single quote this entire week, so safe to say they lost trust.
anyways. always be prospecting i guess. no this isnt my only customer, but as a 1 man show freight agent it still sucks to lose this kinda of volume. all be it, the margins were never great with this customer, and i had already taken a 2k loss during blitz week to move their freight. this was probably the 2nd time this entire year i needed more money to move the freight.
sucks...
