Jinn or what?
This happened about a year n a half ago on holiday in Turkiye. Specifically the AQI Resort in Antalya. Me n my son (10) decided to go to sleep on the balcony so we could hear the waves. It didn't turn out as good as we thought cos we didn't have enough duvets or pillows to make the balcony v comfy, plus someone on another balcony had their TV or phone on really loud in German, covering the sound of the sea. My husband was trying to sleep inside but was in a temper cos we were laughing n talking. We eventually lay down to try to sleep when the person turned their TV off but then a big insect landed on me so I sat up again to brush it off. I said to my son I'd had enough, we couldn't sleep outside, it was too uncomfy & now there was insects as well. He said no no let's watch the sea for a bit, daddy will cross if we disturb him again, so we look at the waves, the beach is only few hundred yards away. Then I look down at the path that goes under our balcony, past some sliding doors to the corridor to the lobby downstairs, n past an open air restaurant area. There is a big weird thing in the middle of the path. I cannot work out what it is. I ask my son, thinking he'll have better sight in the dark but he sounds confused n says I don't know either. Just then two guys come into view from somewhere along the beach area. They're dressed like they've been out, smartish, walking fast, talking Turkish n they just walk either side of this thing without missing a beat. It's big, it's central, it was like they walked too close to it, like they didn't see it. I'm not saying they looked like they walked through it, just far too close. The only way I can describe the thing is like a huge, 7 or 8ft tall pile of washing. There is a look of a round base like it's on the floor, & a piece of pole sticking out of the top, but with what looks like a round glass lampshade on it. The rest of it is an incomprehensible pile of washing. It is so stupidly difficult to work out what it is, on a path that has street lights, that I say to my son we're going to see what it is. Husband is now awake n cross but we run downstairs. Like it can only have taken us maybe a minute to put our shoes on n run down one floor. Whatever this thing was it would've been outside the glass doors. It is not. Noone is around, noone could've moved it away so fast even supposing this thing was done kind of hotel apparatus on castors. I'm not even surprised, I knew as soon as I started running it would be gone. We run around for a bit but there's really nothing. I ask my son what he saw exactly. And he says 'i don't know, it was either like giant shop stand with big postcards or it was a furry ginger cat like a guy in a big suit, it was one then the other.' This isn't the same as what I saw, that sphere on top was a kind of glass bulb like a lamp, & for me it didn't change. We went back upstairs, husband is crotchety n tells us it must've been hotel workers moving equipment. But we'd've seen people moving the thing if it was that. & It was just so weird to look at, to me it made no sense as anything coherent. We did not dream the thing, we were both wide awake the whole time. I guess the thing was a jinn? or some shape shifting entity that couldn't decide what to look like to either of us?? I still think about it loads, not least because if you were a shape shifting entity who was trying to disguise yourself, why not pick something that made sense?? A maid's cart, or a stack of chairs or something?? I have considered posting this on TripAdvisor to see if anyone else saw anything weird there.
