Hi all, I am moving to Zurich in a few weeks and I will get there by car. The car is currently registered in Germany, so I will have to register my residency and change to Swiss tags. I then plan on getting a resident permit to park in the blue lines, or at least this is what I understood looking online.

My question is, how long is this whole process normally? And where should I leave my car while doing it? My understanding is that before you get the permit parking on the blue lines is only for a few hours, and garages are very expensive. Is there a temporary permit that I can use with German tags? Can I get it first thing when I arrive? If anyone went through this process already would really appreciate some tips.
