I sit in the office 8 hours a day, 6 days a week. My current chair is an old local brand chair. I’ve been dealing with back pain for the past year so I’ve decided to invest in an ergonomic chair designed for back support.

I have heard all the hype about Herman Miller and Steelcase, but my wallet's not quite ready for that commitment. Any solid recommendations for budget-friendly alternatives, or tips for finding a good used one? Mesh vs fabric? What features are non negotiable? Will be immensely grateful if you share your experience.

My job requires me to sit 11-12 hours a day and 5 days a week. Sitting for hours is killing me and my current setup offers zero support. I'm looking for an office chair that genuinely helps with chronic back pain and lasts long time. Herman Miller, Steelcase, or something else entirely? It is also helpful if anyone can mention budget friendly options too.
